Cities Faith and Community Forum (CFCF) Statement on Anti-Semitic Attack at Halle, in Germany
The member organisations of the Cities Faith and Community Forum are united in their condemnation of the appalling anti-Semitic hate crime which occurred in Halle, Germany yesterday. The Jewish community was targeted as they celebrated on Yom Kippur the holiest of days in the Jewish calendar.
We are mindful that across Europe there is a growing threat from right-wing ideology and extremism. A growing intolerance to different cultures, religious communities and beliefs. We are reminded of the need to work together as Interfaith organisations and with civic authorities to take practical measures to counter that threat. To ensure that our faith communities feel valued, supported and safe from hate crime.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and those affected by yesterdays attacks.
